ORO AGRI expands product range to accommodate farmers
ORO AGRI SA is synonymous with innovation, development and commercialisation of a range of highly effective, biorational products providing competitive solutions to serve growers’ increasing need to enhance yields and sustain crop health.
Our proprietary concept, OROWET® Technology consists of a unique blend of cold-pressed orange oil, a completely renewable raw material, in patented mixtures with various surfactants and is used as a base to manufacture a range of different product types. The technology has various applications depending on the formulation, the applied concentration and the registration as required for crop protection products in various countries. At low concentrations, it can be applied as a versatile, multi-purpose surfactant, while at higher rates OROWET-technology can be used as an effective bio-pesticide with contact action against various insects, mites and fungi. Other uses include conditioning of physical soil restrictions to improve irrigation water use efficiency in various types of irrigation systems.
ORO AGRI SA has recently entered into an exciting new exclusive distribution partnership with PBR Trading International (Pty) Ltd. (PBR Trading). South African PBR Trading is leading the market in manufacturing rooting stimulants for the propagation of cut flowers and trees in nurseries, liquid organic fertilisers and flower preservatives. This strategic partnership will strengthen the position of PBR Trading in the plant propagation market in South Africa and internationally, and will also expand the product offering of ORO AGRI SA in the global horticulture market. The ORO AGRI group already has a remarkable presence globally and is currently active in more than 80 countries.

According to Johan Coetzee, general manager of ORO AGRI SA, adding these new products to the ORO AGRI product range will benefit customers through the establishment of strong and healthy plants from juvenile stages through to orchard and field transplants to ensure optimal crop performance. The exceptional quality products manufactured near Cape Town by PBR Trading complements the current ORO AGRI product range and will enforce their strategy to provide unique but effective solutions to customers.
Commenting on the agreement, Elandre Vermeulen, head of Marketing and Business Development at PBR Trading said: “We are delighted to announce the agreement with ORO AGRI SA for the distribution of our products. We are set to increase our presence in the agricultural market with the astute knowledge and assistance of ORO AGRI SA. The new partnership ensures that we now have agreements with a strong mix of both horticultural and agricultural distribution specialists in both the retail and wholesale markets. ORO AGRI SA is a highly progressive and innovative manufacturer with a view to expanding their own proprietary product range through technology partnerships, creating a more complete, yet very unique product offering to their clients in the agriculture and floriculture markets. We are proud to be able to bring our proven expertise and experience in the horticultural sector to the table.”
The products
Products like DYNROOT and DIP&ROOT contains high-purity active ingredients that will stimulate fast and prolific rooting of various types of plant cuttings. The product range consists of various formulations to be used on any type of plant cutting from softwood to hardwood types.
DYNAROOT showed greater results compared to the top European product, during independent trials in the Netherlands. In recent tests on grapevine cuttings (pictured below) the superior performance of DYNAROOT was also confirmed by the ORO AGRI research division.

Uneven rooting of cuttings can produce weak plants that are difficult to manage and may cost growers a significant amount of additional labour or even crop loss. Similarly, delayed rooting or lack of rooting can extend the growth cycle of cuttings and will have a negative effect on nursery efficiency. The PBR Trading product range will induce faster rooting times, minimise delays in nursery practices, and create stronger and healthier plants for nursery customers.
