Macadams Baking Systems: Bakery-in-a-box
Over the years Macadams Baking Systems has always strived to find innovative solutions for our key markets in Africa. In 2017 Macadams re-designed and developed a “bakery-in-a-box” concept which literally is a bakery in a box, a 40-foot shipping container.
Macadams insulated the container and fitted it with fully functioning windows and doors as well as mechanical extraction to the roof.
Electricals & Plumbing: The inside of the container is a fully wired to a DB Board and kitted with all the necessary plumbing including a geyser to generate hot water.
The container is custom-fitted with Macadams bakery equipment of various configurations depending on the client’s production requirements. After all the equipment has been installed and secured to the container to not move around during shipping, the container can be closed up and shipped anywhere in the world as a normal 40-foot container.
The client on the receiving end will now have a fully installed functional bakery that requires some basic services like power, diesel and water to be able to start producing bread.
The success of the container bakeries has been received across Africa, clients love the versatility that the bakery can be moved at any time should the area not generate enough revenue.
- Customers are putting bakeries in communities and feeding the community and therefore creating employment within the community.
- Macadams has a client that owns a mill in Africa and uses the container bakeries to bake his own bread with his own flour.
- Macadams container bakeries have been supplied to governments who use it at defense force camps.
